The kids LOVE using Boomwhackers, and they are simple to integrate into the music you are already teaching. I have found that it's best to start with 5-6 packages of this C Major Diatonic Scale set. In my classroom we keep each pitch/color in it's own bucket. With 6 sets, a class with 20-30 students will always have enough boomwhackers for everyone to play at the same time. (If a song like ?Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star? has 6 pitches and you have 5 of each pitched Boomwhacker...........you're all set!) If you are going to invest in a set of boomwhackers, definitely invest in multiple sets so that you'll use them more often, AND the students will have a chance to play different pitches. Any music you are playing with xylophones, recorders, or other classroom instruments can get a second life (and more rehearsing) if you've got a few sets of these to break out and liven up the lesson! I make many of my own charts and color coded posters to use with students at different levels????.fun! Another bonus: if you?ve got multiple sets, you?ll be able to use them in concerts providing a visually impressive display of music reading!
