Detailed Product Description

Acoustasonic JR DSP

The new Acoustasonic Jr. DSP is an updated version of the Fender Acoustasonic Junior. It is a portable, well-built, easy-to-use combo amp designed for natural-sounding reproduction of electric-acoustic guitar and vocals. The new onboard DSP effects and XLR output add extra excitement and usefulness to this already great formula.

The Acoustasonic Jr. DSP uses two 40-Watt power sections to drive a pair of 8" foam-surround low-frequency drivers and a high-frequency Tweeter. The amp's two separate Instrument and Microphone channels each contain individual EQ controls, Phase switches for feedback reduction, FX Select and FX Level. Fender's patented String Dynamics(TM) control tames harsh treble notes on the Instrument channel, and Feedback Notch control removes most feedback problems associated with Piezo pickups.

Phantom Power is supplied at the XLR Mic Input. Professional XLR Line Output with Level control and Ground Lift allows perfect direct input to any mixer. Fender tilt-back legs aim the sound where it's needed, and an optional 2-button footswitch allows FX On/Off selection for each channel.

I bought this amp so I could sing and play guitar for friends and such. I have a Shure sm58 mic, which sounds great through this amp. The vocal effects you can add are what I really enjoy. The guitar channel is superb, and there are lots of dsp effects to mess around with. This thing is plenty loud enough for me and friends. I like how the legs can lean back to project the sound more. The only feature I wish they would have given you was the foot pedal. I'll be ordering that when it's in stock. I play a Taylor 310ce, which sounds excellent through this amp. If you’re looking for a midsize combo acoustic amp, this is it. The dsp30 is just a little too small. This is perfect.

This amp sounds great. I tried quite a few amps in this price range, and this one had the best combination of sound and features. The individual effects on channel 1 and 2 is great, and the effects sound great for built in digital effects. Lots of jam in this amp. I also like the line out and the control on the line out.

I have been on a mission to find the best acoustic amp for the past week. I am starting to play small gigs, bars and coffee shops with my band and I have been looking for a solid acoustic guitar amp that can replicate the beautiful sound of my Takamine guitar. With the Fender name you know your getting a reliable amp. The Acoustasonic series amps sound good, they have a very bright sound to them. The problem I had with this amp was that it took a lot of tweaking to get the sound I wanted and I still couldn't quite get it right. The sound always sounds slightly distorted coming out of this amp, its hard to explain unless you've actually tried it out.

After having the JR for a few more days I felt the need to do a follow-up to the previous posting. The sound was a little thin, I added the BBE sonic maximizer 482 to the setup. What a difference it makes with this amp I would use it if you have a maximizer it adds a whole new dimension to this amp by thickening the sound tremendously. Now I,m totally satisfied with this amp.

Just purchased the Jr and I have to say it is nice. The amp seems to have a lot more power then the Marshall 50 watt that I just sold. I couldn't live without the effects and the mid EQ this amp has to offer. The first noticeable difference was when I plugged my Taylor 814ce into it. The signal was much hotter. I have the expression system and it seemed on the Marshall I wasn't able to get enough volume at lower settings. The delay is what I really like blended with the chorus settings. As far as the overall sound it is crisp with nice highs and deep rich bass. if you are considering an acoustic amp I would certainly take the time to consider one of these. I am very happy with the sound and overall performance of this amp. Tried a number of others and came back to this one.
