Detailed Product Description
HansenFutz Futz Practice And Accessory Pedal
Simulates the action and impact of a real pedal against a drumhead A drummer in search of an easier way to practice his pedal technique has designed a revolutionary product. The Futz (pronounced footz) is a practice pedal that is a freestanding, lightweight and portable pedal that can be used virtually anywhere. The Futz provides the convenience of a practice pad without the volume fatigue of playing a real bass drum, and simulates the action and impact of a real pedal against a drumhead. Tension adjustment The Futz pedal has a tension adjustment to allow for increased or decreased pedal resistance. It also has a pedal start height adjustment, which allows the drummer to closely match his/her regular bass drum pedal. Made of durable super tough nylon The Futz is made of durable super tough nylon which is strong enough to withstand a pounding but has enough give to allow for hours of play with reduced stress on muscles and joints. Its rear hinge design along with high strength velcro help keep the pedal stable on carpets. Use as an accessory pedal In addition to the practice pedal application, the Futz can be used as an accessory to any acoustic drumset, electronic drumset or percussion setup. Simply attach a steel beater (sold separate) for playing various percussion, i.e. cowbell, rock block, tambourine, etc. or a Pintech USA RS-5 drum trigger for use with most drum trigger modules. Additional accessories include a low profile percussion stand.

This Futz pedal is the greatest practice tool! Adjustable tensions and height to match your pedals. Has a great feel to it. It's portable and quiet, but you can take the pad off for audible practice. I just got this a few days ago and have used it every night. My calves are aching!! Highly Recommend!

If you are very serious [as I am] about practicing on a practice pad, and trying to work on being precise with both your feet and hands, and, at the same time, give your feet a full blown workout!, then, you should not even hesitate to purchase this product! These pedals [I purchased TWO for double bass drum], are REALLY awesome! Sorry, but, I have to disagree, they don't 'click' with the pads off, they just sound more audible. But, that's a good thing, because you get really honest when, again, you are on a practice pad, and you can [really] hear the sound of the pedals! Anyway, I'm not a salesperson, I just really like these pedals, and I've seen the difference in my speed, and CONTROL in just a few weeks time since I've been using them. And, like the other reviewer stated, I hope they hold up, quality wise, I really do.

I went to the website to learn about this thing first.. because I was kinda skeptical. But there were some great reviews about it.
When I got it, it looked a bit cheap at first, and the give that you get when the beater of a real bass pedal hits a bass drum was only simulated with the silencer pad on.
But, the fact that it makes so little noise is a real plus, all you'll hear mostly is the squeak from the pivot. You can also take the pad off to get some click sound. Your neighbors will get a break... :-)
The overall feel is quite different from a real bass, but to practice it's great... WAY better than just tapping on your foot, and WAY quieter than a bass drum practice pad with a real bass pedal.
This thing has other great uses as well, but for me it's to keep my feet in shape... good product, great innovation!!

At mid-age I am starting to play the drums.
Just tapping your foot with a practice pad cannot give me the timing I need to learn. So while at work I pull out my practice gear and learn.
A good portable light weight pedal is a must with me, when at home watching T.V. or outside on the deck I really get the technique down with good sound.
