This is by far the best Bass Clarinet mouthpiece I have played. I have tried tons and refused to believe that the bass clarinet was that hard to control tonewise. I need large tip openings for saxophone and the same is true for the bass clarinet. This mouthpiece floored me. It will take as much air as you want to give it. I can play extremely LOUD and it is nearly impossible for me to make the instrument sound squawky at all with this piece and normally squawky can be just a breath away especially in the upper ranges. It's not stuffy at all and gives a huge, well defined, natural (and closer to a Bb clarinet) sound. The key is to use a softer reed (put pride aside) with this larger tip. I'll never go back to hard rubber again. This piece is strong and solid too. The Pomarico makes the Selmers and Vandorens feel like cheap plastic in comparison.
