This case is the answer if you need a compact, relatively lightweight case for a trumpet and a flugelhorn.
At first I had difficulty getting the flugel into the case, but I eventually found that you have to move the divider and lay the flugel in there flatter. I have a Jupiter 846 with a 6 inch bell and a King Flair.
Once you lay the flugel nearly on its side and move the divider to separate it from the trumpet, the moveable foam inserts are not necessary and can get in the way. Once you remove them, there is additional space in the case main compartment for some small items like valve oil or a mouthpiece pouch and maybe a strait mute, but not much else. There are storage holes for two mouthpieces.
The outer compartment will hold scores or books plus pens, cell phones, etc... There is also an attachment point for the Protec Mute Bag. The wheels and extendable handle will be a big help to all of you carrying those heavy weight horns. The rest of us can get by easily using just the carrying strap.
This bag also has a very nice hard shell that prevents sharp object from denting the contents. My thanks goes out to Protec and WWBW.

After reading another review, I was a bit hesitant to buy the Mike Vax combo, even thinking about returning it just in case. However to my surprise it worked perfectly for me. I carry a Cousenon flugel and Xeno with K&M stands stored in the bells. By removing one of the padded blocks by the flugel area and wrapping it in a towel that I would carry anyway, I am able to insert a Jo-Ral bubble mute for the trumpet. Of course the Protec case has the very cool pocket for cell phone, pens, and misc. storage. All in all and considering its compact size, I give it an A+. If you carry a larger flugelhorn like the Kanstul or LeBlanc, you should check first for fit before buying. Peace!

In response to a previous review, I am able to fit my Conn Vintage One trumpet and Vintage One flugel in this case. You just have to adjust the position of the divider so that the flugel goes in at a steeper angle. I'm very happy with this case, and I'm able to fit it in the overhead bin when I'm flying. I've been looking for this type of case for a while, and the price is right.

The case turned out to be too small. My flugelhorn (Kanstul 1525) will not fit with my Yamaha trumpet. The flugelhorn does have a 6.5in. bell, which may be partly the problem. The center foam divider is moveable, it uses Velcro, but unfortunately allows the valve casings of the instruments to touch.

In a few words, this case is wonderful. Very well made, sturdy, and plenty of padding. The case also has wheels and a telescoping handle so you can wheel it through airports or just to gigs. There is a roomy pocket on top for music, oil, etc. The inside is padded extremely well, and both trumpet and flugelhorn fit snugly. I have even been able to put a C trumpet and a cornet in the flugel side with no problems. Those of you with large bell flugels (Conn V1, etc.) may not be able to use this case.
The only drawback to me is the fact that there is no room to put mutes in the case without potentially damaging a horn. Other than that, this is a great case, and I understand it will also fit in the overhead bin on airplanes. Well worth the money.
