I have had my TD3 for about 2 weeks. It's excellent, the drum sounds are great, cymbals sound very real. I have recorded with pro-tools, the drums sound like a real kit. You can play along to your favourite cd's via a mix-in jack, the drums sounds blend in really well with cd's. I was playing at 11:30 at night whilst my family slept, something unheard of with an acoustic kit. You can create your own hybrid kits using your favourite drum and cymbal sounds from the sound module. It's easy to set up and take down, packs away nicely, overall very user friendly and great value for money! Cympals have at least 2 sounds, and a choke option. Most snares have two sounds also.

I bought my TD-3 about two weeks ago. To date, I've practiced on it a fair amount every day. It does sound very nice, sounds are clear, sound real, (most of them..) and theres a small variety to fit any style of music.
After playing for a while, I got bored of hearing the same sounds, the variety really is not that large. On the other hand, it is nice how it picks up how hard you hit, and does rim shots on all cymbals. It tends to work fine, easy setup, easy to configure, all round good product for starters.

I just bought one yesterday and already running midi to trigger sounds from another source and it works great. The Roland Module has awesome presets which makes it easy for non computer users. For getting tracks down on a pre production level and practicing in an apartment, this is a great asset to a Drummer or an overall Musician. Thumbs up Roland.

This kit has a great sounding module. It doesn't have a built in sequencer, but it does have a mix input, so you can insert a CD player and play along with your favorite tracks. It's quiet and by far not as expansive as the other Electronic kits. It doesn't have the ability to add an expansion board, but it's provided with a midi in and out. So you can trigger midi sounds from other modules or Cubase etc. Overall a great choice!
