Detailed Product Description

Shure PSM400 Wireless Personal Monitor System

Versatile Systems for Working Musicians
Designed for performers who are tired of the limits of floor wedges, the PSM 400 offers hands-on control and freedom to musicians who have a limited budget for gear. With a wide range of available options - from complete Wireless and Wired systems to individual components - there is a PSM 400 that is right, rehearsal through performance, for almost everyone who performs live music.

E3 Earphones: Comfort and Clarity
Sound isolating and unobtrusive Shure earphones are designed specifically for use with Shure PSM systems and deliver the incredible sound and performance that ear buds and other headphones simply can't. Along with their high fidelity, full-bandwidth transducers, the natural design of these stereo earphones allows them to rest comfortably in the ear, providing a tight seal for sound isolation and a snug, secure fit. Shure Sound Isolating Earphones can be used with a variety of foam, flex, or triple flange accessory sleeves to get a personal fit tailored to your ears. The universal 3.5mm (1/8 in.) plug connects to Shure's PSM body pack receivers, as well as many other personal audio applications where high fidelity is deemed appropriate.

I recently purchased this system for myself to get away from inconsistent monitoring and muddy stage sound. These definitely do the trick! They worked straight out of the box, plug and play, had a great full sound, and the E3 earphones are killer! The stock sleeves on them isolated about as much as my triple flange musician ear plugs! I just put them in my ears, expecting to have to add ear muffs over the top in a minute and just started playing. They isolated so much! I would consider myself a heavy player, and so I needed something that would give a great sound while isolating enough so that I don't have to crank the volume to levels that will damage my hearing. These did the job. I have recently got custom moulds made for them which isolate that little bit more (obviously due to the fact that they fill out your whole ear), but if you didn't want to have to go down that road, the factory sleeves included do exactly what you'd need. This whole monitoring system is ideal for those musicians who do not want to put up with inconsistent stage sound each gig. And they'll be great right from rehearsal to the studio as well.

As an announcer, stage performer and DJ, I was all over the place. And the PSM400 is the perfect wireless in-ear monitor system for me. The transmitter outputs a solid stereo signal. And the body pack allows personal volume adjustments. And the actual ear pieces (E1, E2, E3, or E5) give the richest sound I have heard in an ear piece. If you use these on an MP3 player and usually run the volume at 8, you will run these at 3-4, and achieve the same volume with more clarity. The best part--- the mixer. 4 channels of pass through audio. 1/4 inch or XLR connections. Plus 2 extra inputs for other sources. Left and right outputs feed the transmitter. I ran it with Ch1 (left) audio on 1 and Ch2 (right) audio on 2 so I could hear the music, my mic on 3 so I could hear myself, and a producer's mic on 4, so they could feed me cues and info, like a TV newscaster. I would pan any channel from left to right, to get the mix just right. With my wireless headset mic and these in-ears, I was well connected. On stage at Disney or Universal in Orlando, or a convention center in Anaheim, Kansas City, Salt Lake, or Chicago, the shows were tight. Mainly because of this one piece of equipment. I retired 2 years ago and sold almost everything. But I still have my favorite dual CD player, 1 mixer, and my PSM400 / P4MTRE with mixer in-ear system. I highly recommend it for singers, band members, or any stage performer.
