Designed to offer a warmer, more inviting sound, the Yamaha CSG Bb clarinet possesses a German style bore with French style keys. The player will find with the Yamaha CSG Custom clarinet whose response is immediate yet covered and lush. This clarinet seems to blend the best of both worlds. Features of the Yamaha G Series clarinet include hand selected grenadilla wood body with sculpted key work. The lack of a bell ring also allows for a more resonate chalumeau. Complete with contoured case and cover, Yamaha Custom mouthpiece and care products.

Detailed Product Description

What is HAMILTON PLATING?
Hamilton plating is an alloy of gold and nickel. It's extremely resistant to wear and discoloration, and delivers a powerful tone with excellent projection. On the CSGH instruments, the Hamilton Plating is actually not only on the keys, but on the posts as well. In our artist testing, it was shown to be a dramatic difference between instruments that had just Hamilton plated keys and Hamilton plated keys and posts

I began playing on the G clarinets about a year ago, and I must admit that it took me a while to get the sound I wanted. Now that I have lived with these clarinets for a bit of time, I would not consider going back to my old set-up. The sound is very even and the intonation is far better than any other clarinets I've played. I initially missed the “ping” I got with my Buffets; but after experimenting with barrels, I found a sound that I enjoy even better.

I play a Yamaha clarinet in my school marching band and I think that a Yamaha is the best clarinet anyone could play. I have had mine for three years and it works and plays beautifully.

I had looked forwarded to trying the Yamaha CSG, partly due to the hype as Yamaha's newest, best professional clarinet. I was very disappointed to say the least. I found it uneven in resistance, and the clarion long tube notes ( long B) was very, very stuffy. Not just one instrument, but the three that I tried. On a positive note, the intonation was great, as good as any other pro clarinet out there. The Hamilton plating surprised me........it appears gold, and if you want to stand out as the only clarinetist playing what appears to be gold plated keys, then it's for you. I found the CSV to be a much more playable, responsive and flexible instrument.

This is a great instrument, not to be wasted on the inexperienced.
