This is a great bass, our first bassist had a cheap chatty bass and that made all our songs sound bad. But he quit and our second bassist has this.I don't play bass but I love to 'jam' on it. It has a superb sound quality, and really brought our old songs back to life.

I bought this bass after testing many basses both new and used, some of which cost twice as much and one that actually cost 3x as much and without any exaggeration, I can say that this bass outperformed them all. The three band EQ lets me dial up various tones and I can go from a nice attacking slap tone to muddy Dub and from growling rock to smooth pop. The only gripes are that the higher frets are slightly difficult to play as the the bolt on neck has 6 screws (more of the neck is attached to the body)and the neck is slightly wider than I am used too. I also wish the body were slightly smaller. If you just look at the 'quilted' area, that would be the perfect body shape for a bass. But I guess in bass as well as in life, more wood is better than less wood ;) When it comes to tone this lady sings every note. And there is not one single dead note on the entire fretboard. I play in a cover band and we do everything from Linkin Park to UB 40 and this bass handles everything very well with it's own characteristics. Those looking in this price range should also check out Cort's A5 (has a passive/active switch) and those with slightly more money to spend should consider a Warwick, but the TRB1005 is definitely more flexible. If lost/stolen, I'd replace this bass in a heartbeat.
